100 People Project :: A Entrepreneur and a "Jane of all Trades"

This week our post features Paul and Lana. Paul is an entrepreneur in every sense of the word! He has had held many titles over the years including paperboy, chicken farmer (you may soon be able to raise chickens in any backyard in Edmonton!), graphic designer, internet strategist, community relations coordinator, web developer, business analyst, strategic business consultant and online communications coordinator! On top of all those interesting jobs Paul has also found the time to travel to Taiwan (while he was globetrottoing he also managed to fall three stories smashing his femur and right fibula to bits!) Did we mention this guy’s only 25 years old!! Wow! I don’t want to give everything about Paul away, instead, I encourage you to go here and read all about his accomplishments as well as what he’s up to these days (Don’t forget to see what he can help you and your business). Next on the post is Lana Clancy who lives in those great white Icon towers in downtown Edmonton (I’m so jealous!). She can walk to work every single day, walk to the grocery store on the corner in the summertime and she can walk out her door on Saturday mornings and be in the middle of our cities best outdoor farmers market. Again… I’m  sooooo jealous!

Who are you?

I’m an entrepreneur. Building websites, working with companies and business, consulting, and helping them create usable websites.

Which super hero impressed you the most as a child?

Wolverine, he’s invincible!

If you could wake up anywhere tomorrow where would it be?

Whistler, I was just there, it’s amazing.

What do you do for fun?

I come here to the farmers market, I love it here. I also snowboard in the winter, BBQ in the summer, and hang out with friends.

What has been your most significant moment so far?

When I was in Taiwan I fell 3 stories and broke both my legs. I was teaching English and I was 6 months into the job and we went out for the 6 month anniversary. I forgot my house keys in a friend’s car and went home at 4 in the morning. I couldn’t get into my apartment and I was climbing up the balconies and one of the windows I was hanging onto broke. I shattered my femur and broke my right fibula. So that kind of changed my life a little bit.

What has been your greatest accomplishment?

Just pushing through a lot of the stuff I’ve gone through.  I’ve had a lot of ups and downs. Being 25 and being able to have a career and an education and a few pieces of real-estate I feel like I’ve pushed quite a bit.

What is one thing people can appreciate about you now?

I’m easy going and like to go with the flow and have fun. And I’m there pretty much for anybody.

What would we find in your refrigerator right now?

A lot of vegetables, a lot of organic stuff and stuff from here (strathcona farmers market).

Describe your perfect bite.

Perfectly cooked medium rare steak with veggies on top.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?

In University I went to bed at 3 am after going to Whyte ave. I passed out with my winter coat on but had already taken off my pants. I passed out on my bed and my friends took a picture of my white ass and then posted it on Facebook.

Photo note: The window to the right of Paul’s head in the image below had a bunch of pigeons flying in and out. Anyone else ever notice that? odd.
